Malinka

Honda CBR250

When I was younger I used to ride Dnepr, a Soviet-made motorcycle very similar to a more popular and well known Ural. Then there was a very long break from the world of motorcycling, but I always longed for it. Finally I decided to get back to my moto passion and to refresh my skills I started riding a Honda CBR250. What an amazingly effective decision it was!

This bike is small and has only 250cc, but its nimbleness and easy controls created for me a very smooth transition back to the world of motorcycling. Very quickly Malinka [that's how I named this beautiful Japanese girl] saw her odometer pass 3,000, 4,000 and 5,000 mile marker in just a few months.

With my guru’s help and guidance I slowly started refreshing my riding skills and laying down a foundation for motorcycle expeditions – my childhood dream that always stayed with me throughout all these years.

And though I’ve ridden Malinka mainly on asphalt roads, offroad adventures were always in my blood and occasionally I would find some opportunities to satisfy my “enduro” drive. ;-)

In order to answer this call for offroad and motorcycle expeditions, a better equipped adventure touring bike was needed. That’s when Poisk stepped into the picture. While  Poisk now enjoys most of the scenic rides and short (one-day) expeditions, Malinka is irreplaceable in the city and commuting. Sometimes she also spreads her wings on scenic rides in the country.
